There was an error inadvertently made in our most recent newsletter. Our Austin concert begins at 7:30pm, not 7pm, on June 1st. Thanks to the eagle-eyed individual who caught the mistake! The text below is correct. Our apologies!
In a couple of weeks, it'll be time for Eine Kleine Kammermusik, the last program of our current season! We'll be performing music from the early Romantic era, including our first performance of a work by Beethoven, and you'll get to hear a period clarinet in our ensemble for the very first time too!
Performances will take place next week, on Saturday, June 1 at 7:30pm in Austin (Redeemer Presbyterian Church, click for map) and Sunday, June 2 at 4pm in San Antonio (The Chapel of the Incarnate Word, click for map). For Austin tickets click here, for San Antonio tickets click here.
You'll enjoy one of Beethoven's piano quartets, one of his earliest compositions (he finished it at age 15), performed using a replica of a Viennese piano from 1780. We'll also perform a dazzling wind quintet by Beethoven's boyhood b/f/f Antoine Reicha, and Louis Spohr's Gran Nonetto, its first period-instrument performance in Texas!
At the upcoming concerts, we'll have informational brochures for our upcoming ninth season available, and season tickets for next year will also be on sale. Online season ticket sales will begin immediately after the concerts on June 3.
We can't believe it's already the end of our eighth concert season, and there is no way we'd be able to do what we do without all of you and your love and support, and for that we are most grateful and humbled.
We hope to see you soon as we welcome the summer and close our season with some beautiful and virtuosic Romantic music!
