Dear Friends of ABO:
We're in our third week of Big Little Donations, and we're approaching 20% of our goal when we combine donations made through through Facebook those submitted to our website! We are so very thankful to all of you who've risen to the challenge of helping us make something BIG out of many small donations!
When we began the ensemble that became ABO, we were simply a group of musicians playing baroque music for fun. Now that we're a fully-formed, professional ensemble, the excitement is still the same, but our financial needs have increased. One thing we're the most proud of, though, is the fact that we have over the past several years managed to keep administrative costs low so that the vast majority of our annual budget (around 67% at most recent analysis) goes directly toward our musicians in the form of performance fees and reimbursement for travel expenses where applicable. This means that two-thirds of the funds that we bring in is dedicated directly toward the act of making music.
It means so much to us as an ensemble, and to me personally, to be able to share this music that we love dearly with all of you. ABO has become a part of the central Texas community, and we want to continue to be able to do this. Every donation of $50 or less brings us closer to being able to continue to do this in the upcoming season and beyond.
To those of you who've already donated, we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts! If you haven't and would like to, you may do so on Facebook or our website! Or, if you prefer snail mail, you can mail us a check to PO Box 6233, Austin, TX, 78762. We also hope you'll consider sharing us with your friends – we think they'll love what they hear!
Season tickets for the upcoming season, and individual tickets for our first two programs, will go on sale within the upcoming week. Thank you so much for your love and support, and we all hope to see you in the upcoming season.
Respectfully yours, with much love,
Founder & Artistic Director
