A Message Regarding
COVID19-Related Postponements

Dear ABO Family:

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in these usual and unsure times. We're writing to you to give you an update on the final programs of our current season.

Because of social distancing measures enacted nationwide and the closure of venues, we have had to reschedule our performance of Antonio de Literes's opera Los Elementos from April 25-26 to July 11 (Austin) and July 12 (San Antonio). If you had already purchased tickets to this program for its April date, those tickets will of course be honored in July.

At present, we will attempt to hold our concerts the weekend of June 6-7 as planned.

We will be making arrangements for both programs to be live-streamed through either our YouTube page (link) or Facebook page (link), or video recorded in 4K HD and uploaded to our YouTube page, or both, so that those who are not yet willing or able to venture out  will be able to enjoy the performance from their homes.

Our website has been updated to reflect all of this, so please feel free to check there for further details, or email us and we will respond as soon as we're able. If you need some musical distraction, check out our SoundCloud and YouTube pages – we're digging through our archive and uploading some of our better performances.

These are trying, difficult times for everyone, and nonprofit arts organizations are particularly vulnerable. This difficulty is amplified for smaller, younger organizations like ABO that do not have a large endowment or cash reserves yet built up, so we ask that you keep us in your thoughts as this crisis peaks and subsides. It is also a difficult time for our musicians, many of whom have been put out of work at what is often our busiest time of year. We can all use much of your moral support and as many of your positive thoughts as you can give!

We look forward to the next time we can all join together to enjoy the music that we all love so much. Please take care and stay healthy, and we hope to be together with you all as soon as is safely possible.

Musically yours,

Billy Traylor – Artistic Director & Founder
Stephanie Raby Noori – Concertmaster
Hannah McGinty – Chorusmaster
Chelsee Sandaker –  Ensemble Administrator
