March 4: Seedy Saturday at the Intergenerational Garden
March 12: Spirea Trail - Stroll, Play & Discover 10 am – 12 pm: Meet the Worms & Wee Ones Group at the interpretive sign at the edge of the Spirea Trail parking lot in Golden Ears Provincial Park for a short introduction before we set out on the trail. We will walk Spirea Trail at a toddler/preschooler pace. The event is geared towards families with children under the age of 6. Older siblings and other family members are welcome, and encouraged, to join us! No pets allowed. The trail is about 500 m, flat, and is accessible by stroller. Caregivers are responsible for their children's safety and behaviour at all times. Be aware that the boardwalks cross over marshy areas and a small pond. Dress for the weather. The boardwalks can become slippery so proper footwear is advised. Bring a snack and a water bottle.
March 18: Nature Day at Amsterdam Greenhouse 10am – 4 pm: 19100 Old Dewdney Trunk Road, Pitt Meadows All ages, all welcome to drop by and enjoy interactive and informative displays from 20 local organizations connecting our community to nature. Free seminars on raptors, bears, organic pest control and mason bees. Activities for kids include a Nature Day clue hunt. Food truck on site.

March 25: Trail Clearing with Ridge Meadows Outdoors Club 10am – 12:30 pm: Meet at the top end of Gold Creek Parking Lot, Golden Ears Park The event proceeds, rain or shine, but is cancelled if snow is lingering. We will be clearing encroaching brush from the first half kilometre of the East Canyon Trail. The event is open to adults and families with children as young as 13. Pets are not allowed. We will begin with brief safety reminders as we sign-up and savor our served-on-site hot chocolate. Wear work clothes suitable for any seasonal weather possibility, plus: work gloves, hat, hiking or work-suitable boots, small pack, spare jacket, rain gear, snack, and water. Tools are provided. March 26: Katzie Slough Canoe Tour with Watershed Watch Salmon Society
10am – 1pm: meet at 17640 Kennedy Road, by the Kennedy Pump Station, Pitt Meadows. Join Watershed Watch Salmon Society and Ridge Meadows Recycling Society on a canoe tour of the Katzie Slough to celebrate local waterways! Learn about the Slough’s history, ecology, and the challenges that make it emblematic of many small streams in the lower mainland. Cost: $20 to rent a canoe. Free with your own canoe/kayak. Please dress for the weather. Canoes, life jackets and refreshments provided. This is a kid-friendly event. Mandatory RSVP required. April 1: Allco Park Forest Walk with Alouette River Management Society 11 – 12:30 pm: Meet in parking lot at ALLCO Park. This forest tour will focus on identifying different tree and plant species both native and invasive, as well as learn the importance of wildlife trees to the local animals in this area. Park features include picnic facilities, equestrian and walking trails, scenic natural areas, open green space, park benches, river access and wildlife viewing. Family-friendly, rain or shine. Wear clothes suitable for weather conditions. Bring a lunch to enjoy in ALLCO park at the many picnic tables provided. April 15: Family Hike to Lower Falls with Ridge Meadows Outdoors Club 1pm – 3:00pm: Meet at East Canyon Trail Parking Lot, Golden Ears Park Open to adults and families with children 10+, no pets, maximum 20 participants, RSVP required. We will begin with a brief orientation as we sign-up and savor our served-on-site hot chocolate. Everyone must be able to maintain a steady walking pace for a total of 6 km along the smooth, gently rolling trail.
