Celebrate Earth Day!
The annual Earth Day Celebration in Maple Ridge kicks off at 10am on Saturday April 23, 2016 at Memorial Peace Park, with this year’s theme of ENERGY! The annual eco-inspired family event will include many of the same features it has in the past, including interactive booths & activities, flash mobs, a food truck festival, hands-on crafts, entertainers, and of course a special Haney Farmer’s Market.

Keep your eyes open for the special "Human Recharging Stations" set up throughout the park!
Other Earth Day favourites include the electric vehicle display, Cycle Recycle free bike draw, the Earth Day poetry and photo contests, roving performers, and more. As part of the popular Family Freecycle, collection boxes will once again be set up at select schools & businesses at the beginning of April for people to donate gently used books, toys, & clothes and all items will be available at the Greg Moore Youth Centre at the Earth Day event.
Local green businesses or community organizations who would like to participate are encouraged to create an interactive booth or activity and join in the “energy” theme. Interested groups can visit the event website at www.mrearthday.ca for all the latest info or to register as a booth, activity, performer, or volunteer!
