"Current Sea" a solo exhibition by Amelia Alcock-White
Petley Jones Gallery
2245 Granville Street
(next to Heffel Fine Art @ Granville & 7th Ave)

This new collection highlights the currency of water’s intrinsic value, presenting the concept of water as more than a mere material asset, Alcock-White renders perspective on decisions that trade pristine nature for economic gain.

Simultaneously abstract and hyperreal, the series features intricate compositions of the sea and freshwater lakes, vibrating with depth and motion. Dramatic colours, stylized ellipses, reflected shapes, abstract patterns on glittering surfaces recreate the physics of water’s elegant flow. These images move beyond water’s material worth, a transcendence that depicts water as a vital ecological entity and a substance of sheer beauty.

An art auction will continue the campaign, “Painting for Change” during this exhibition. At the reception on October 7th and throughout the month, Amelia will be painting at the gallery. The resulting painting will be sold by silent auction with all proceeds donated to Our Living Waters, a Canadian, non-profit network for groups who aid freshwater health in Canada.

Bidding will begin on Oct 7th and end on October 28th.
Contact the gallery to place your bid. Starting at $500
The painting will be 16x20 inches, valued at $1000
Anyone across Canada can participate! Follow along IG or FB for updates. (604) 732-5353
