Dear Friends of Catholic Charities of Central Florida,
As we prepare to enter the holy season of Lent we remember our call to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Our 40 Ways to Mercy calendar answers this call with a Lenten Journey for the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy.
From praying for our staff and clients to volunteering at a food pantry, each day will help you share God's love through prayer, service or almsgiving. The calendar also includes resources to help guide you through Lent including a gratitude prayer and weekly catechism readings.
We invite you to share this calendar with your friends and family and share your witness to mercy on social media with #MercyCFL. Visit the link below to view, download and share the calendar.
Donald became homeless after a recent amputation prevented him from returning to work. He was discharged from the hospital to Pathways to Care where he is receiving the care and compassion he needs to recover. Thanks to a grant from Dr. Phillips Charities, Pathways to Care is launching a new program called Step 2 for men like Donald who need more time to heal and become self-sufficient. Click here to learn more about the new program.
Diane is a retired care giver who came to us for budget counseling and help filing her taxes. Through our Family Empowerment Program, Diane has learned how to budget, save money and find stability on a fixed income. Thanks to our volunteer tax preparers in Polk County, people like Diane are receiving the help and guidance they need to file their returns, apply for tax credits and make the most of their refund.
