Today marks the start of school for 2016 - an exciting and daunting time for our learners.
After a long December break, our children are back at school. They had a lovely holiday and Christmas (just take a look at the photos below!) and we hope you did too.
We know that January is a tight time financially for most families, and for the Yenzani family it's no different, but thank you to everyone who has contributed towards school fees, uniforms, school, stationery and other back-to-school necessities to ensure our children were ready for today. If you'd still like to donate, you can do so here:
You can donate to Yenzani and potentially benefit from tax relief!
Individuals and companies can still benefit from tax relief on donations made to Yenzani Children's Home during this financial year, which ends on 29 February 2016.
Yenzani is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO no. 930 006 865) caring for abandoned, abused and orphaned children. That means that as per Article 30 Section 18A of The Income Tax Act no. 58 of 1962 (as amended), contributions to us by taxpayers are tax deductible.
In a nutshell, if you donate to Yenzani, you will qualify to receive a Section 18A tax receipt for your donation, which will allow you to claim the applicable tax relief. So, instead of that money going to taxes, you can help us to use it to take care of vulnerable children!
You can donate up to 10% of your taxable income without paying donations tax. So, all you need to do is:
