Service delivery? What service delivery? 
 

The Constitution promises us the right of access to electricity, adequate shelter, water, and a clean environment. These are the underpinnings of service delivery. But in the North West province, people have learned to live without these things.

The DA is in possession of a leaked report to the North West Provincial Speaker, which recommends that the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality (and its associated local municipalities) be placed under administration.
 

AMENDMENTS TO THE SAICE CONSTITUTION
 

All Corporate Members are reminded to vote on the proposed amendments to SAICE’s Constitution. A copy of the amended Constitution together with additional background information and an explanation is available on the SAICE website (www.saice.org.za)
Ballot papers were distributed in the July issue of the SAICE Magazine.

Friday sees the finals of AQUALIBRIUM
 

This exciting competition creates awareness regarding the issues surrounding water in South Africa. It spreads the message that water is a precious commodity, the use of which should be reduced, then recycledre-usedrespected and conserved.

ECSA calls out for more industry feedback
 

The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is calling on all engineering practitioners to participate in the annual Universum professional’s survey which was launched on Thursday, July 17, 2014. This will ensure that the views of as many engineering practitioners as possible are recorded in order to influence the professions’ future direction.

BEP 2014 – A joint response to the Department of Public Works 


Earlier this year, SAICE opened up a platform for public comment and invited members to share their thoughts on the draft Built Environment Policy (BEP) 2014, as set out in Government Gazette No. 37653, Board Notice 370 of 2014.
