September 2019 Bulletin

Dear FRP-BC members,

FRP-BC is dedicated to prioritizing membership benefits. As you may have heard, we are currently in the process of creating a new and easy-to-navigate website as a conduit for FRPs.

We understand how important it is that FRPs of all sizes/regions have access to:
  • Information such as emerging issues affecting families
  • Expedited Standards of Practice AND a workshop to assist with the completion thereof
  • Facilitated online training to support FRPs (see below)
  • Members only space to develop a community of practice and promote sharing of resources
We would like to know:

1. What relevant online learning and professional tools would your FRP be interested in receiving? Themes include but are not limited to the following:
  • Trauma informed practice
  • Family Vulnerabilities
  • Parental Involvement
  • Aboriginal Focus – Path to Learning
  • Early Childhood Development and Learning
  • Acting as gateway for families in the identification of atypical development/behaviour
2. What do you see as an important benefit to FRP-BC membership?

Please forward any feedback to Tara at or Michelle at or by calling us at 250 590 5706.

Thank you!

Tara & Michelle

NLC FRP Advanced Certificate Survey Update

Thank you to all those that completed our recent survey on the Northern Lights College Family Resource Practitioner Advanced Certificate. We gathered feedback on the following:

1. How the course might be improved; and
2. What barriers are currently preventing individuals and organizations from taking part.

Based on your responses, we will be looking at ways to make future Family Resource Practitioner training more accessible, cost-effective, and relevant to your FRP's needs.

If you did not receive our survey and would like to provide feedback, please get in touch with Michelle at
