The courts have ruled, and the people have prevailed. A federal judge ruled this morning that statewide elections for the Georgia Public Service Commission discriminate against Black voters, blocking state officials from holding a November election for two seats that were set to be on the ballot, including mine.

The decision is good for Georgia because it ends decades of embedded racism in the PSC elections process, although I’m disappointed I won’t be facing Echols this November. I look forward to defeating him when that time comes.

We are so proud of what we have accomplished in this race and know this fight is not over. We will be closely watching this ruling and what it means for the newly drawn lines and when this election will take place.

Thank you for being part of this journey to change the PSC for all of Georgia.

Together we will see victory.

Thank you,

Patty

Candidate for Georgia Public Service Commission
