Summary of Updates Included in this Newsletter

REMINDER: Annual Meeting - Saturday, February 9th @ 11AM

We are continuing with the the ongoing effort to have our Annual HOA Meeting on a Saturday. Please come out and support your community!  We will be publishing the documents to the website in the meeting archives.

The meeting is at the Sunset Oaks Clubhouse located at 100 Marsh Landing Dr., Holly Springs, NC 27540,  Please share this information with your neighbors! 

Our next Annual HOA Meeting will be Saturday, February 9th at 11AM. Attending in person or via proxy enters you into a raffle for a $250 door prize!

If you are not able to attend, we ask that you please nominate a Proxy to cast any votes in your place. You can nominate a board member or name someone else in the community to vote on your behalf.

HOA Fees are Due

You should have received the payment books for the HOA Assessment (dues) for 2019. As members of an HOA, all homeowners are responsible to pay their annual dues, with no exceptions.

We encourage you to login to (or create!) your accounts at William Douglas to confirm you do not have any past due balances. Failure to pay these dues on time results in late payment penalties, possible legal action (including repayment of legal fees), as well as increased efforts and stress for your volunteer HOA Board. We’ve been fortunate that our delinquent accounts have been minimal over the years; but in those rare cases of sustained non-payment and failure to communicate with the Board, legal action may include filing a lien and commencing foreclosure proceedings.

Make a Difference in Your Community

The Sunset Oaks HOA has a volunteer position open on the Board this year. Please consider nominating someone (or yourself!) to participate in keeping our community amazing!  We have the following position open:
  • Board of Directors - We have 1 opening that needs to be filled with a member from the north side (The Woods). The position typically requires attendance at quarterly board meetings and approximately 2-4 hours per month for calls/emails to conduct business, vote on decisions, etc.
We do hope you would consider joining the current volunteers in our community.  We also want to give a warm "Thank you" to all of our volunteers from the HOA Board and ARB for their time in serving our community.

Lastly, we look forward to seeing ALL OF YOU!!!  at the upcoming meeting. In order for these meetings to affect change, we need a quorum of the community.  If there is something you would like to see voted on in the meeting, help us get a good turnout!
