Legislative Advocacy

Join Michael McGee, John Valera, Judith Clark, and Heather Lusk on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 12-2 PM HST on Zoom for a webinar on how to: 
  1. Identify the policymakers in the Hawai’i legislative that create substance use and prevention policy;
  2. Be able to write and submit testimony regarding substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery; &
  3. Report policy changes to peers and colleagues and recommend additional areas for input and advocacy
Up to two CE credits available

The Philippine Pre-Medical Association of Hawaiʻi (PPMAH) Holiday Canned Food Drive

 
The Philippine Pre-Medical Association of Hawaiʻi (PPMAH) and their Outreach team are coordinating a holiday canned food drive. Food will be distributed to homeless shelters in Waipahu. National Institute on Aging Director’s Regional Meeting

The National Institute on Aging will be sponsoring a virtual Director’s Regional Meeting on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, 9:30 AM-1 PM HST. We invite you to the half-day meeting on research and training for individuals new to aging research and those underrepresented in aging research. Fall 2022 Public Health Undergraduate Summit

On Thursday, December 1st from 4pm-6pm HST in the BioMed D-Courtyard, 27 of our BA Public Health students will be presenting posters of their Applied Learning Experience literature reviews (4pm-5pm) and 40 of our graduating Public Health undergraduates will present posters based on their completed projects (5pm-6pm). Light refreshments provided, masks requested. 

The Global Health Conference of the Americas

 30-Minute Skill-Building Webinar

Grab a cup of coffee and join the Hawaiʻi Health Data Warehouse (HHDW) on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 11am HST. We will cover the Hawaiʻi Cancer Plan (HCP) 2030 tracker in Hawai‘i Health Matters. HHDW is a partnership between the Hawaiʻi State Department of Health and the Office of Public Health Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

2023 Hawai'i Pacific Health Summer Student Research Program (SSRP)

Student applications are now available for the 2023 Hawai'i Pacific Health Summer Student Research Program (SSRP), June 19 - August 11. Over the course of this exciting eight-week program, twelve undergraduate students will be given invaluable, hands-on experiences in medicine and clinical research. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted (or postmarked for mailed pieces) by Monday, January 16, 2023.
