If you work with research data or plan to in the future, we encourage you to participate in this survey to have a voice in this process.

Federal Data Standards on Race and Ethnicity: Comments and Speakers Needed
|
|
The AAMC Center for Health Justice invites your participation in a short survey on recent efforts from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to revise its Standards for Maintaining, Collecting, and Presenting Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity for the first time in 25 years. The OMB wants to hear directly from the public as it develops recommendations for improving Federal race and ethnicity data. In response, the center will be engaging in these activities by submitting written comments to OMB and participating in a virtual listening session hosted by OMB on December 15. Your feedback will help the center identify key issues and topics that should be included in our written comments and raised during the listening session.
To provide comments or volunteer to participate in the December 15 listening session with the Center, please complete this survey by Monday November 7. For questions about this request, please contact Daria Grayer (dgrayer@aamc.org).

The call for proposals for ASPPH’s 2023 Annual Meeting (March 15-17 in Arlington, VA) is open. ASPPH seeks submissions for innovative ideas, promising and emerging practices, practical solutions, and experiences in addressing challenges and opportunities in academic public health. The call for proposals is open until Monday, November 14 at 11:59 PM PT. Visit the call for proposals page for more information and to begin a submission.
ASPPH is also currently accepting nominations for our 2023 Excellence Awards. The awards are a unique opportunity to recognize colleagues who go above and beyond in their careers in public health teaching, research, practice, community service, mentorship, and student services. Integrative Center for Microbiomes and Human Health COBRE Core Bucks Program 2022 Call for Proposals
|
|
The Microbiome Core Bucks aims to support microbiome research at UH, to promote the services of our research Core facilities, and to allow faculty to partner with our Microbiome Research Center. The goal of the Microbiome Core Bucks Program is to provide funds to investigators to further (or initiate) their research on microbiomes by awarding Core Bucks to be used in any of the following Cores for studies related to environmental microbiomes and their potential impacts on host or environmental health: MICRO (Microscopy Core), MGAL (Microbial Genomics Core), and InSTAR (Insectary Core). First evaluation of awards will be November 28, and we will accept proposal at any time thereafter until funds are exhausted.

HPHA's Spring 2023 Student Fellowship

The Hawai‘i Public Health Association, founded in 1945, is an association of community members, public health professionals and organizations dedicated to improving public health. In order to better support students’ education, HPHA has established a competitive Student Board Fellowship. This semester-long fellowship will provide a student with the opportunity to learn about community board service, and includes a $500 stipend.

Mass General Summer Research Trainee Program

Apply from November 1, 2022 to January 22, 2023
SRTP is an eight-week program at Mass General Hospital, one of the world’s highest-rated hospitals, which has the largest hospital-based research program in the United States. SRTP pairs accepted students with an MGH faculty preceptor to provide guidance and mentorship in a new or ongoing research project. This year the program is taking place from June 4, 2023, to July 28, 2023.
