Sunday Evenings at 5:30 pm*
The Celtic Eucharist follows the sacred, liturgical patterns that are familiar to Good Shepherd, while introducing prayers and music from the 8th century, 19th century, and present-day Isle of Man and Iona Abby.
This evening service offers an opportunity to worship when you cannot attend on Sunday morning, or when you need to hear the prayers and music of the church in different language and style.
In the current days of the pandemic, it also offers an in-person worship opportunity with fewer people.
*Note: some Sundays during the year, especially on Feast Days and in Advent and Lent, we will have Choral Evensong on Sundays at 5:30 pm.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AND PRECAUTIONS
Good Shepherd has upgraded our HEPA air filters. We have added two Medify Air MA-112 filters to existing HEPA filters. These medical grade, large area filters are made for churches, concert halls, and universities-- they offer the highest grade of HEPA filters, and purify over 5,000 square feet in less than 15 minutes.
MASKS REQUIRED INDOORS.
Please continue to socially distance between households.
Sit close to the front and allow space in the back of the church for children to return from church school.
Communion wine is only offered in individual chalices-- families share.
Please bring your own chalice or small vessel, or use one of the chalices available in the back for the church.
The Eucharistic minister will pour consecrated wine into your chalice.
All singers in our choir are required to be fully vaccinated. We have refigured the chancel to allow for additional space between choir members.
Employees of the parish, as well as those working with Christian Education, must also be fully vaccinated.
Simplified Coffee Hour and Church School for elementary school children takes place on the G.S. Green.
These continue outdoors as long as the weather allows.
Sundays following the 10:00 AM Eucharist, the Common Room will be open for sneak peaks of the renovations. Parish architect Jan Gleysteen and Junior Warden Chris Sole are available to answer questions and give tours of the downstairs space.
Work in our Memorial Garden-- including landscaping and turf-- has taken place over the last few weeks. New bushes have replaced old ones and areas where the grass died have been reseeded.
For our teenagers who began Confirmation in 2018, we are happy to announce Bishop Gates will confirm them Saturday, October 23rd at 10:00 am at St. Andrew's in Framingham. We will join with other parishes in Metro West Boston, many of whom have also been waiting for this opportunity. Because of COVID precautions, this service is not open to the wider parish. However, please hold our confirmands in your prayers as they are confirmed.
Help us continue our online broadcast each week
In order to continue to broadcast Sunday worship live on YouTube, both at 10 am and at 5:30 pm, we need in-person volunteers for very simple technical support. Some is as simple as clicking a button! Contact Troy Bracher (email@example.com) for information and to help.
