What the Desert Fathers and Mothers can teach us about our present crisis
This video is for all children, both those who engage remotely and those who attend Sunday School in the Loring Room.
Please sign up in advance to attend worship in person.

We are limiting the number of attendees at each worship service, far beyond the guidance issued by the Commonwealth and Diocese of Massachusetts. We can only accommodate those not registered as space and distancing allow.

Hunger is an ever-present issue for many families and the pandemic has made the situation much worse. To help in some small way, we are gathering bags of groceries for St Stephens B-LOVE program. Our summer grocery bag drive related to their B-SAFE program was so appreciated we have set a new goal of 50 bags with a November 22 deadline. We are asking each and every parishioner/family to donate 1,2 or even 10 bags according to the shopping list below. Read more about what St Stephens does here.

Sign up on the Sign-up Genius here  or email Melissa Bradley ( with a commitment of the number of bags you will donate or with questions.  Drop your bags at the church on Sundays or during the week to Jen Fraser’s porch at 59 Woodland Auburndale 02466 (2 miles from GS).  Our Christian education efforts will focus on hunger in these coming months. Please click here for INFORMATION.

Thank you, Schuyler Awtrey and Lucas Boyd

Angels Ascending and Descending:

Handicapped Accessibility at Good Shepherd
The outdoor portico (L), which will offer ground-level access to the elevator, is fully framed. In the Common Room (R), you wee the rebuilt wall and hallway leading to the lower elevator lobby.
Click here to view Angels Ascending and Descending, a plan to achieve 100% accessibility at Good Shepherd. At a total cost of $500,000 and with a beautiful, compassionate proposal secured, your Vestry asks you to consider prayerfully your support of this plan.

We continue to receive support and pledges while construction is underway.

Frumentum-- Communion at Home for older and at-risk parishioners

, from the Latin word meaning wheat, is an ancient practice of the church, bringing items of Holy Communion to those separated from the life of the church, so that all can receive bread and wine on Sundays simultaneously.

With the blessing of our Bishop, Good Shepherd will offer Frumentum to members of our parish who cannot attend public gatherings for the foreseeable future. Volunteers from Good Shepherd will deliver consecrated bread and wine to you, or you can pick up items at the church, keep them in your home, and receive them on Sunday mornings while taking part in our online worship.

Please contact the Rector directly to request Frumentum, by calling the parish office or via e-mail at Initially we will consecrate bread and wine for delivery on Sunday, September 13, so that Communion will be available beginning Sunday, September 20. Please specify the number of people who will receive so that we can deliver enough consecrated bread and wine for approximately four Sundays. Subsequent deliveries will occur next month.

Additional information about keeping the sacrament in your home and how to receive items will be provided to those who request Frumentum.
