We’re just days away from kicking off our 5-Day Juice Challenge! I hope you’ve all had a great start to the New Year so far, and are ready to get serious (but not too serious because we are going to make this fun) about improving your health, feeling more energized and losing weight. Here’s everything you need to get ready to feel and look your best.

      

TRANSITION

In these final days before January 11,
continue transitioning in:
 
Set aside for now:
processed foods, white flours, sugar, soda,
alcohol, caffeine, animal proteins and dairy


Include lots of:
juice, salads, vegetable-based soups,
dairy-free smoothies, whole grains,
nuts, seeds, natural nut butters, beans and
legumes, and lots of water

It’s going to look a little something like this:
 
WAKEUP:
8 oz. warm lemon water with juice of 1 lemon

SHOPPING LIST

Make the most of this weekend by getting your shopping done.
Spoiler alert: It’s a lot of produce! You will need to make room in your
fridge to account for all of your beautiful fruits and vegetables. Remember, not everything needs to go in the fridge; some stuff can be left on the counter.
Here are our tips for storing your produce.
 

Vegetables

8 medium beets (beetroot)
30 carrots
38 celery stalks
4 chard (silverbeet) leaves with stems
14 medium cucumbers
26 kale (Tuscan cabbage) leaves, about two bunches
2 orange bell peppers (capsicum)
6 romaine (cos) leaves
2 cups (60 g) spinach with stems
5 large sweet potatoes
2 yellow bell peppers (capsicum)
 

Fruit

16 large apples
7 cups (1 kg) blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1 grapefruit
11 lemons
2 limes
6 oranges
14 pears, any variety
1/2 fresh pineapple (or 3 cups frozen pineapple)
2 cups (320 g) seedless red grapes
 

Herbs & Spices

6 in (15 cm) piece of ginger
1 inch (2.5 cm) piece of turmeric (or substitute fresh ginger)
1 cup (30 g) basil
4 fresh oregano stems and leaves (optional)
cinnamon
 

Other

10 cups (2.5 L) unsweetened coconut water*
5 herbal tea bags (chamomile, peppermint, etc.)
*If you prefer vegetable broth instead of coconut water,
you’ll need 5 cups (1.25 L). You can also mix it up, so purchase
accordingly to your preference.
