Hello and happy February to Saltwater families and community. The Saltwater Waldorf School is busy planning many events - we ask you to note them on your calendar.
Teacher Conference Week - The School will be closed for February 16-20.
Saltwater Visioning Workshop: The Saltwater Waldorf School will be holding a Visioning Workshop on Tuesday, February 24th at Creekside Commons (2200 Lambert Drive) from 7 to 9:30. Every year we hold these facilitated strategic planning sessions to help us prepare for the following school year. We will be looking at topics like the growth of the student population, the scope of programming for specialist programs, preparing for middle school, school space requirements and we will review the budget. We encourage all of you to come to this event and we welcome your input to help us prepare for the 2015-16 school year.
Family Fun Days: The School Early Childhood and Kindergarten Faculty have organized Family Fun Days happening every second Friday in February and March. This is a free, drop-in event for children up to school age from 9:30 to 11:30. Click here for more details.
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for Class 5-6: The Class 5-6 is raising funds to attend the Greek Games in May. Come and have dinner March 2 at the Westerly Hotel (adults $15/children $7.50). Proceeds go towards costs to attend this event. Click here for more details. There will be two sittings at 5pm and 6:30 pm.
Spring Puppet Shows: The Saltwater Early Childhood teachers will be putting on two puppet shows at the Courtenay Library on March 4th and March 19th from 3:30 to 4:00 pm. Please pass this along to anyone you know!
Thank you to Zoe Steeves! The Saltwater School is sorry to say that Zoe Steeves, our Preschool Early Childhood Worker is leaving with her partner for Alberta at the end of February. Good luck to you Zoe!
BAKE SALE FEBRUARY 13
Saltwater Waldorf School Class 5-6 is having a Valentine's Bake Sale!!!! This Friday (February 13) Class 5-6 will hold a bake sale in their classroom from 8:30 to 12:30 at the Grades Building (2398 Rosewall Crescent). The students be selling baked goods and there will be gluten free, vegan options. Tea and Coffee will be served. The students are fundraising for class ski lessons. CASH ONLY PLEASE.
