Investing in the Armenian Community
We are delighted to inform you that we have successfully completed refurbishing the roof of Hayashen. Here are photos of the old roof and the excellent new roof covering. By doing so we have not just ensured that the roof is well safeguarded for the next 25+ years but that we have invested in the future viability of our thriving community centre and thus the identity of the Armenian community in London. Because Hayashen is where high quality social and cultural activities take place for their benefit irrespective of background, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, language, political affiliation or religion they identify with. We welcome diversity and we would like to welcome you to the Centre whenever you are ready to do so.
So, when you are next considering which charity you wish to support, please remember CAIA as your local Armenian charity that is implementing its mission to ensure the welfare and sustainability of Armenians in London during the good as well as the tough times.
CAIA MISSION
The Centre for Armenian Information and Advice seeks to enhance the quality of life for disadvantaged members of the Armenian community primarily in London, specifically those in poverty and isolation. The Centre supports the diverse needs of its community through the provision of welfare, educational and cultural services at a welcoming Centre for all Armenians
Advice and Support as Shielding Comes to an End
The Government recently announced that from
1 August, there will no longer be a requirement for vulnerable individuals to shield.
From then you will be able to visit shops, community centres and places of worship, but you should continue maintaining rigorous social distancing.
The Government support offer which meant those shielding would receive a food box, care and/or medicine delivery will be coming to an end on 31 July.
CAIA will stop providing food boxes after the first week of August as our Elders lunch club has re-started on Friday 12.30-3.30pm.
If you’re exiting shielding, or know someone who is, please start to make alternative arrangements. CAIA’s advisory service will continue to help the most vulnerable and any others who are subsisting on low income, face losing their job, or
experiencing a crisis. etc.

Reconnecting Again
CAIA’s Emotional Well-being Group held its first face-to-face meeting for several months outdoors at
Gunnersbury Park.
The meetings include opportunities for people to speak openly, share experiences and anxieties, and learn about mental health to support their own challenges.
The group offers the opportunity to make friends, develop their confidence and self-esteem, and provide peer support to each other. The project is supported by the People’s Health Trust.
