Flavor Craze: Restricting Flavored Tobacco Products at the Point of Sale
September 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. E.D.T.

 
Flavored tobacco products are seemingly everywhere in the retail environment. While most of the recent focus has been on flavored e-cigarettes, this is only one part of the issue.  For example, a recent national survey found that 82% of tobacco retail stores sold flavored cigars. This webinar will give an overview of the scope of flavored tobacco products at the point of sale, why they matter in the “War in the Store,” and policy solutions that can help limit their impact on youth tobacco use and initiation.  We will also look at the approaches that several communities have used to address this issue and the legal implications associated with flavored tobacco regulations.  Presenters will be Mollie Mayfield from CounterTobacco.org and Mark Meaney from the Tobacco Control Legal Consortium.

2) CounterTobacco.org and ChangeLab Solutions present:  A webinar on e-cigarettes and point of sale tobacco control. E-cigarettes, e-hookah, vape pens and other electronic smoking devices continue to expand at the POS. These products are largely unregulated and present both a challenge and an opportunity in POS tobacco control efforts. Tune into this webinar for more information on addressing the sales and marketing of these products. Presenters will be Ian McLaughlin from ChangeLab Solutions and Katie Byerly from CounterTobacco.org.
