Counter Tobacco's 2013 Photo Contest:
Submit your photos now!
Last year, you captured the tobacco industry's marketing tactics at the point-of-sale and we are calling on you to do it again! The Surgeon General says that exposure to retail marketing encourages smoking and undermines quit attempts. According to the Federal Trade Commission Cigarette Reports, in 2011, the tobacco industry spent $7.6 billion dollars making their presence known in the retail environment; let's capture these images for everyone to see!
Use your camera or mobile device to capture images of tobacco advertisements in your community. Advertisements are often found in and around gas stations as well as in convenience stores!
Choose a category send your photo to
Counter Tobacco:

(1) Greatest Youth Appeal
(2) E-Cigarettes
(3) Stores Near Schools
(4) Best Map or Infographic
(5) Funniest/Most Ironic
(6) Novel products
(7) Flavored Little Cigar/Cigarillo
Don't get too hung up on categorizing your image,
but if you are looking for a little guidance, check out the descriptions here.
Winners receive a Counter Tobacco prize pack!
