Reflections 2019-2020: Look Within
The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works for the theme of "Look Within." Reflections is so much more than "just an art contest."  It helps kids take risks, be inspired, think creatively and receive positive recognition and be celebrated for their works of art.  It also allows our community to celebrate our students' creativity! Thank you for encouraging art by offering Reflections at your PTA!
Council is here to help make it easy! Check the Reflections page on our website for regular updates, join the Northsore Council PTSA Reflections and Art Docent Chairs Facebook group and be sure to sign up for our "almost weekly" Reflections communications. Questions? Contact Council's Reflections Chair, Cindy Jensen.
PTA Proud
We are seeing some awesome membership campaigns rolling out across Northshore! A few thatPhotograph of Kenmore Middle School PTSA's A membership display featuring a spoked prize wheel. have been spotted so far:
  • Kenmore Middle School PTSA manned a table at their school's fee and photo day event, Colt Roundup, that included a sweet-looking prize wheel. (Photo courtesy of Kenmore Middle School PTSA.)
  • North Creek High School PTSA, Arrowhead PTA and Canyon Creek PTA are using some incentive drawings to promote early membership sign-ups.
  • Northshore Middle School PTSA has started building hype around membership by sharing some of the great member benefits available (like discounted tickets to the Washington State Fair).
  • Bear Creek PTA has been handing out business cards promoting membership with handy-dandy QR codes, making it is easy for prospective members to sign-up online.
What kinds of things has your PTA been doing to promote membership in these days leading up to the new school year? We'd love to hear about them. Share what your PTA has been doing in our new Northshore Council PTSA Membership Chairs group!
Is your PTA doing something that makes you #PTAProud? Or have you seen or heard about PTA activities in Northshore that inspire or deserve recognition? We would love to hear about it! Please contact Melissa Kline or Cindy Jensen with your program, story, or event!
Council Kudos!
  • MANY THANKS to Grace Jurado and Robin Zaback for representing our Northshore PTAs at the NSD Back to School Fair on August 16th!

Claiming memberplanet Accounts

Emails to local PTAs to claim their memberplanet database account were sent out on August 9. Note: only one individual from each PTA was sent an email to claim the account (in most cases, it was whomever was the Head Admin of your PTA's PT Avenue account, typically the President or the Membership Chair).  If  you have not yet received an email to claim your account, contact for assistance. Please visit to find helpful checklists and step-by-step directions.

Tip of the Week
As you start planning for your fall membership meetings, remember that there are a number of items that require membership approval. Ensure that your members vote on:
  • Approval of the budget (or, if there are no changes since last approved, be sure to still take the time to review the approved budget with members),
  • Updated standing rules and goals,
  • Year-end financial review results,
  • Officer elections (for roles not elected in the spring),
  • Election of your nominating committee (it is a best practice to elect your nominating committee at this meeting).

If you have questions, Council is happy to help!
