Dear AATM Member,

Happy New Year!  If you are like me, you are in a little shock at getting back to work.  May I just welcome you back and thank you for all that you do for the students of Arizona.

You are probably already aware that as we return back to work we do so with newly approved state standards in mathematics.  You can view the new standards at The documents include red-lined changes that make it very easy to see where modifications were made and to identify the origin of the comments that led to those changes.

We want to thank Superintendent Douglas and the Arizona State Board of Education (SBOE) for not delaying the process and moving to vote on and ratify the standards that have been so diligently and purposefully been researched and written.  As educators, we now know how to move forward.  If you would like to voice your thanks, please send an email to Superintendent Douglas at and the Arizona State Board of Education at

We are also very excited to announce that applications for the 2017 AATM Mini-grants are now open.  These grants will be awarded to teachers for classroom use, and will be awarded up to $100.  For information on how to apply for a grant, continue reading!

Finally, don’t forget to check out upcoming events that you might be interested in.  Announcements are listed below as well as on our website:

Again, welcome back to school.  We are here to support you in any way that we can.
