Would you like a great deal on the New DeLaval Automated Rotary Milking System?

This is a Gold Medal Winning World First Automated Milking Rotary.

Local Farm Equipment suppliers, MacDougalls, are looking for ‘expressions of interest’ from NZ Dairy Farmers.

MacDougalls and DeLaval want to find a dairy farm interested in being the first to install the "World's First" Automated Rotary Milking System ( AMR ).

At first it looks like a normal rotary; only nobody’s doing the milking! Up to five robotic arms do it instead: from teat preparation, milk cup attachment to a hygienic post-milking spray.

DeLaval AMR™ can milk 90 cows/hour. In other words, it has the capacity to milk a herd of 540 cows three times per day or 800 cows twice per day or anything in between.

If you are lucky enough to be selected …

Not only will you get the World’s first Automated Rotary Milking System installed on your farm at a hugely discounted rate, but you will also receive many add-ons and extras for free.
This arrangement would be based on allowing DeLaval to use your new Automated Rotary Milking System as an example for sales purposes in their subsequent marketing for the system.

Register your interest today:

If you would like to be considered for this highly advantageous opportunity please contact Brett MacDougall: bmacdougall@macdougalls.co.nz to register your interest.

Hobbit Premiere a Great Night!

Invited Guests and local business folk enjoyed playing celebrity roles for a night.

Last Wednesday saw Hollywood come to town in Pahiatua. It was a night of great fun for the lucky guests who got to ride in limousines, play the role of their favourite celebrity, be harassed by paparazzi and have their photo taken with Gandalf and a couple of hobbits.

In the end there was the movie itself! Local television station, Tararua TV, was on hand to record the event and interview some of the attendees after the movie was finished. The general opinion was that, while it may be the light version of the Lord of the Rings, it was still a highly enjoyable and entertaining movie experience with all the usual Peter Jackson magic.

Please support your local Regent movie theatre in Pahiatua so we can continue to see great movies like this for years to come.

Last minute cancellations turn local Business Dinner into charity event!

This may be one of the best examples of making lemonade when life gives you lemons ...

What do you do when you organise a Full Buffet Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings to support your local business comrades and only half of the people who booked actually turn up?

This is a situation that Pahiatua's well-liked 'Black Stump Cafe' found themselves in last Saturday. Despite having bookings for 32 people and having ordered all the food and booked three singers to entertain the crowd: Black Stump Cafe found themselves with 16 last-minute cancellations. 10 of those came on the very night of the dinner.

Not wanting to see all that food wasted: Alison and the good folk at Black Stump called up the local church and asked the Vicar to round up 16 people who would enjoy a free Christmas dinner and/or who may find it difficult to afford to dine out usually. Being a bit of a champion, the Vicar not only fulfilled his mission but insisted on paying for himself and another guest.

Thus, the evening was a huge success, if not financially, certainly in the spirit of the Christmas Season's often quoted motto, "Goodwill to all men (and women)!" Well done, Alison and crew.
