Dear Members and friends,

After a busy month of preparations for the ARC Annual General Meeting where we welcomed three new members, the Province of Flemish Brabant (BE), the Province of Drenthe (NL) and Härryda municipality (SE), our newsletter Regions and Airports is back:

The last weeks’ most interesting news stories on our regions and aviation include an interview with the ARC President on carbon emissions of airports vs the aviation industry, cargo news from Budapest Airport and a new route Budapest - Madrid, several of the airports in our regions have become US preclearance airports and news on the future Berlin Brandenburg airport.

In the EU section you can read about Europe’s five largest airlines jointly lobbying the EU aviation policy makers, and the Gulf carrier debate continues.

Also, in the environmental sector, Saudi Airlines have been fined for carbon emissions and the US is preparing to regulate the pollution of the aviation industry.

These articles and much more in the newsletter. We hope that you will enjoy reading this edition, and please continue to inform us what is happening in YOUR airport region.

Yours, the ARC Secretariat
