Wine Foundry to Launch Wine Club (& it's time for Open House!)
The Wine Foundry

Even though the year hasn’t yet come to a close, we’re excited to announce the first of several new projects for 2013. In February, Wine Foundry will launch our first Wine Club. Because we source from a lengthy list of Who’s Who vineyards across a dozen AVAs, you’ll have access to a seemingly endless possibility of unique expressions. Shipments will include something for all palates with styles ranging from the crispest of Sauvignon Blancs to the most opulent of Napa Cabernets and everything in between.

We’re driving Patrick a bit crazy by peering over his shoulder while he finalizes the blends for the first shipment. All the details will be announced in next month’s Newsletter, but if interested in sipping a sneak peek, we’ll be featuring several of Patrick’s special Wine Club blends at Saturday’s Open House.

Client Services

Initially, navigating the ins and outs of winemaking from afar may feel like a daunting endeavor. It isn’t. To ensure you receive outstanding wine and a fantastic experience, our team has you covered each step of the way.

Kate Schwartz, who handles client services, is your winemaking concierge. Raised in Portland, Kate’s love of wine blossomed while living in the UK. The Wine Foundry is the second stop along her wine promising career in "the biz" where she seamlessly tackles her role in Sales and Client Relations.

Knowledgeable, kind & professional, Kate can tackle your questions about fermentation, brand development or the best place to get udon in SF.

Open House

With less than a week to go, we’re truly excited about our inaugural Open House on Saturday. With a giant footprint and ceilings "this high", the new space is ideally suited for our unique approach to winemaking & we want you to see it.

Please join us for this unique opportunity to discuss winemaking with the staff while exploring bottlings from previous vintages and sampling wines currently aging in barrel.

Space is limited, so you if you haven't signed up, click to RSVP.

Holiday Discount on Adoptions

Tasting through barrels vineyard by vineyard is an experience unlike any other. The process enables you to develop a deep understanding of the unique qualities of each property. While sampling last week, we came across gorgeous barrels still available for adoption. Because we’re offering a 30% discount on previous vintages, it’s a perfect way to get your hands on truly delicious wine. To start, email Steve at steve@thewinefoundry.com.

For all adoptions, you’ll sit with our winemakers to craft the final blend and prepare the wine for bottling in Spring of 2013.

2011 Zinfandel
Grist Vineyard
Barrel Number 0024

Grist Vineyard stands high atop Bradford Mountain in Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley. The property is ground zero for Zinfandel and this barrel showcases why Grist is prized among Zin lovers. Barrel 0024 is built around a haunting core of red fruit, cola & pie spice. Structurally, the wine offers medium weight tannins and finishes with a bright pop of acidity.

2011 Cabernet Sauvignon
Reverence Vineyard
Barrel Number 0497

Nestled in Southern Napa’s Coombsville region, Reverence features an incredibly long growing season. Here, daytime temperatures, moderated by the proximity to San Pablo Bay, ensures the fruit gets plenty of time on vine to develop depth & complexity. Barrel 0497 brings layered aromatics and flavors of blackberry, plum, cassis & dark chocolate. On the palate, the Cabernet presents hefty weight and mouth coating tannins which are tempered by a whisper of vanilla from the oak.
