Kincardine Community Improvement Plan (CIP)
The Municipality of Kincardine is developing a new Community Improvement Plan to attract investment and foster economic growth. A CIP can include incentive programs, like grants and loans, to stimulate private sector investment for things like:
  • business façade improvements
  • business signage and awnings 
  • accessibility enhancements
  • agri-tourism
  • affordable housing
  • energy efficiency upgrades
  • business attraction

Comprehensive Zoning By-Law Review.
The Municipality of Kincardine is working with MHBC Planning to update the Comprehensive Zoning By-Law. This document specifies the permitted land uses on property (e.g. commercial, agricultural, industrial or residential) and regulates things such as building heights, lot coverage and property line setbacks.

GRANTS FOR BUSINESSES

Digital Transformation Grant 4.0

Local brick-and-mortar small businesses looking to improve their online presence can apply for a $2,500 Digital Transformation Grant to set-up and maintain:   

  • Social media presence;  
  • A new or improved website;
  • Basic e-commerce enabled on a website; 
  • Other applications to increase online presence. 

The grant application portal is now closed; however, Luke Price is available to assist businesses with their online presence and prepare for companies when the grant re-opens in the new year. Contact Luke Price

Through a mix of in person and digital consultations we provided coaching, training, access to resources, and help with securing grant funding for digital projects of all kinds. $25,000 in Grants. By helping businesses access the Digital Transformation Grant we've seen $25,000 in total funding delivered to businesses in the Municipality of Kincardine. 100% Approval Rate. Of the Kincardine businesses who met the pre-qualification criteria and successfully completed the mandatory training, all of them had their final grant application approved. $0 out of pocket. The DSS position is fully funded through Digital Main Street's Ontario Grants Program, which is supported through investment from the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade and administered by the Ontario BIA Association.
