2020 has been a year like no other as we all grapple with surviving the multiple pandemics of COVID, racism, and its impact on our mental health.

From the disproportionate impact of COVID on Black and Brown communities, the continued murders of Black people by the police, managing workplace microaggressions, and managing everyday life, we are tired.

While there is no overnight solution, there are some things that we can do to manage through and even enjoy these last few weeks of the year.
  • If the darker days are hard for you, Seasonal Affective Disorder may be part of the cause. Get as much sunlight as possible and invest in a sun lamp to use daily.
  • Move your body regularly! Dance, exercise, walk, anything that gets your body moving.
  • Connect with someone (or something) that makes you laugh. Whether it’s a Zoom call with a friend or watching a funny show, find ways to bring laughter into your life.
  • Fantasize about what you are looking forward to next year. Journal about it or tell a friend. It’s helpful to remember that we won’t always be this tired or restricted.
