Communications & Reminders

Our fall concert with all choirs is Wed Oct 17.  All choirs are sounding great. The concert is free. Call time for all choirs is 4:30pm   The concert begins at 7pm and will end at approximately 8:30pm.

Please sign up to volunteer at this week’s fall concert. We only need a few helpers to serve pizza and usher. You won’t miss the concert!   Click on the following link to volunteer.
A reminder that all choir performances are required.   Mrs. Mac should be contacted ASAP should there be any conflict, or if a sickness has occurred and a student may be unable to perform.   Should a performance be missed she should also be contacted for a make-up assignment.  Also, the practice at WSHS is that performances are more important than practices (e.g., for sports teams) so all should be able to perform without consequence.   See Mrs. Mac with any question or concern about this.

One last reminder regarding concert attire:

Men in Black: Long sleeve button down black dress shirt, black slacks, black socks, black dress shoes, and a black belt..   Kimberly has several shirts she can check out to students.  Ties will be distributed the night of the concert.  Please have clothing pressed and looking SHARP!

Cantare:   Dresses were sent home this past week.   Please hem them for your singer's height.   They should come to the bottom of the ankle.   Everyone should wear off-black nylons or knee-highs with black dress shoes.   All should be washed cold and air dried.

Asteria and CT will wear choir robes.   Asteria students wear black tights and and black closed-toes dress shoes with little or no heel under their robes.  (No pants.)  Hair should be off the face.

CT:   Men wear black slacks and a dark t-shirt, black socks, and black dress shoes.   Women wear off black nylons and black closed-toed dress shoes with little or no heel.   Hair should be off the face for men and women.

VANCOUVER TRIP - Information will be sent out this week.   Watch your email accounts for that information, and note that the first $100 deposit for the trip will be due on November 1.

FUNDRAISERS in progress include the following, with proceeds going into the students' accounts.
  1. Butterbraids (forms due 10/26)
  2. Wreathes (forms due 10/24)
  3. Poinsettias (forms due 10/24)
FINALLY --  A reminder can be a "sponsor" of the West Salem High Choir.   Please see below for the options for giving $200 or more to the program, and the valuable benefits for being generous in this way.  Recognition of sponsors will appear in concert programs, and in this newsletter.

See below for more information, and contact Julie Brewen at for more information, or to become a sponsor.
