Sermon Series: Conversations with God
Title: "Principles of Prayer"
John 15:7-11 / Mark 11:24-25 / James 1:5-7

Pastor Perry Kallis

The late Bible scholar, F.B. Meyer once said; “The greatest tragedy in not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer”. Most of us as believers would agree that prayer is both important and foundational to our faith, but we might get embarrassed if we admitted how little time we actually spend praying. The New Testament book of James declares some important, everyday motives and motivation for prayers which are amazingly applicable for August of 2020.

You are invited to join us for this sermon either on-line or at our outdoor Worship time on Sunday morning at 9:00am.

Car Parade Farewell

Marshall and his family will be with us Sunday morning, August 23 to share a brief word so we can pray for God’s grace as we all go through this transition.  In addition, there will be a “car parade farewell” for anyone who wants to drive past their home at 510 Black Oak Drive in Lodi between 6pm and 7pm to offer words of affirmation and expressions of love.
We are excited to announce that Wednesday Night Live (Grades 3-5) will begin meeting at 6:15 pm every Wednesday on the front lawn.

AID TO LEBANON

Besides the 150 people killed in the recent explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, more than 5000 are injured and 300,000 are homeless. Thousands of buildings are damaged. Lebanon was already facing massive challenges before the explosion, with one in every three people in the country a refugee from neighboring Syria, 50% of the population living below the poverty line, and Covid-19.

The GracePoint Missions Team has made a $1000 donation to LSESD (Lebanese Society for Social and Educational Development), an organization with Baptist roots and run by Lebanese Christians. Their goal is to empower the Lebanese church to minister to the vulnerable and marginalized and to build bridges with local communities. Two important ministries are Beirut Baptist School, with 90% of students from Muslim families, and the Gateway Bookshop.
