Title: Desert to Dessert
Text: Numbers 11:4-23

Pastor Perry Kallis

There is a very subtle difference in the way they are spelled-- desert and dessert. But that extra ‘s’ makes a huge difference in the two. Given the choice, most people would prefer to eat a delicious piece of dessert rather than travel through a dry, dusty desert by foot. Likewise, in our daily lives, most of us naturally try to avoid the unpleasant seasons of life in favor of seeking the pleasant and comfortable. The past year of 2020 may have seemed more like a dry desert than a pleasant dessert, and we are not finished with some of those challenges. And yet, God is not absent from those dry times of life. In fact, we, more often than not, find ourselves growing in trust during the challenging times of life. Numbers 11 gives a snapshot of Moses and the Israelites struggling through a “pandemic of complaining” and some important lessons that apply to us as we enter 2021.

2021 Offering Envelopes

The 2020 giving year has seen plenty of changes. Many people migrated to online giving through our web portal. Thank you for making that switch and allowing the church to stay fiscally stable during this pandemic. Some of you faithfully mailed in or dropped off your offering envelope containing your weekly tithe. We appreciate you as well. With no in-person services, the 2021 boxed offering envelopes are now available to pick up from the office from 8am-4pm Monday through Friday. If you would rather have them mailed to you, please let us know.

To set up online giving, click the link below or call the church office and we will be happy to walk you through the process.
