Camp Meeting 2021 Registration
To our valued Camp Meeting Guests:
I am sure you are all aware that the BC Conference Board of Directors has cancelled Camp Meeting 2020 due to the pandemic we are currently experiencing. All CM 2020 registrations will be rolled over to 2021. If you have not had the chance to read the official statement yet, you can find it here: https://www.bcadventist.ca/.
Although we won’t be seeing you at Camp this year, we would like to inform you that we are still pushing through with the transition to online registration for Camp Meeting 2021. As we are now almost at the last stages of transition, we would like to ask all our registered guests to please send us an email at campmeeting@bcadventist.ca with your full name, site number, phone number, and current mailing and email addresses. All information related to the new online registration will be sent initially via email, and so it is important that we have your correct information on file. We will keep you informed of the latest developments through our website.
Thank you very much for your support and understanding. May you all be blessed in different ways as you keep yourselves and your families safe during these difficult times.

Due to Coronavirus
The COVID-19 health crisis is affecting all conferences across the nation, continent, and, indeed, the world. Your prayers are needed as we navigate the future together.
All face-to-face community events have been cancelled. As you have likely heard by now, the BC Camp Meeting 2020 has also been cancelled. However, plans are being formulated to have a shorter Virtual Camp Meeting. It will be held from Wednesday evening to Sabbath evening July 29-August 1. Watch for communications from the BC Conference for more details.
Due to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 crisis, the Board of Directors (BOD) voted to place a temporary freeze on hiring new pastors in the BC Conference until further notice. The BOD is meeting in June when more details of the economic effects will be reported. The BOD is also holding a separate Financial and Statistical Review at that time where the finances of 2019 will be reviewed and analyzed. The BC Conference is doing all it can to reduce expenses wherever possible, and solicits your prayers that our Lord will guide in all decisions.
We are encouraged by Jesus’ promise in Matthew 6:33-34: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” When we put God first, our courage remains strong.
Ern Brake
Vice President for Administration/ Executive Secretary
ADRA, ACS and the BC Conference have partnered up to help 13 local churches with grants that will assist various food related projects for their communities during this COVID-19 crisis. ADRA alone is subsidizing two of these projects. ACS has provided 6000 bags that are being sent to the churches to be used in the distribution of food items. ADRA is always looking for financial cooperation from individuals such as yourself. If you are interested in learning more about what ADRA is doing, not only in BC but in all provinces across Canada, please visit their link; https://www.adra.ca/covid-19-grants/. May God keep us safe as we continue on life’s journey here on earth.
For more information on local church projects please contact Tanya Avelar-Martinez at 604-853-5451 extension 300. Or tavelarmartinez@bcadventist.ca
April 16, 2020 was an exciting day as family members of Marshall Colquhoun witnessed his baptism at the Abbotsford Seventh-day Adventist Church. Michael Maw had studied with Marshall for a long time. One he made his decision, Marshall did not want to wait another day, another week to be baptized. The Abbotsford Church is excited to welcome this young man into our fellowship.
Elder Dan R. Jackson Retires
Daniel R. Jackson, president of the North American Division of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, intends to retire July 1, 2020.
Elder Jackson served as BC Conference President from November 1, 2000 to January 31, 2002. The British Columbia Conference wishes Dan and his wife, Donna, God's blessings and a happy retirement.

We want our church to come back stronger and more unified from this experience. Normally we talk about how digital technologies are a powerful means to scale up traditional ministry and evangelism, but COVID-19 has pushed the need for digital to be the priority. The NAD BIG DATA + Social Media Services has created resources we think you will find useful to help migrate your worship service and help you build an online community for your church.
