Cornerstone Community Church

On October 24, 2020, Cornerstone Church was happy to announce and give God the praise, for the baptism of Glenda Stenteford Glenda.
Eva Cote (CSDAC Interest Coordinator) & Pastor Cote did two initial Bible studies and then Dr. R. Elloway teamed up with Pastor Cote to conduct the remaining Bible studies for about one year. Chaplain Nichelle of AIM (Adventist Information Ministry) referred Glenda to the pastor. Glenda says she has enjoyed the church family in making her feel very welcomed and loves the truth of God’s word.

Inspire Ministries Adventist Community Church

Meet Vanessa Angel B. Florendo and Erica Jade R. Cabangon. Both were born and raised in Christian homes. Vanessa’s grandfather was an Evangelical Pastor and influenced and introduced Jesus to her at age 8. Erica was born Adventist having both parents as Seventh-day Adventists. So the process of their conversion started when they were still very young. Erica’s Pathfinder Bible study group friends at church were all baptized except her. When asked why, she told her mom she was not interested nor ready at that time. Vanessa unsuccessfully tried and planned thrice, for several baptism schedules since high school until she finished her nursing degree and got married. One day, when asked by her sister about her salvation, she felt a strong conviction and this gave her hope. She started attending our Inspire Ministries Bible study care group at Greg and Phoebe Deza’s home in December 2019. Erica pursued her nursing education and she felt the importance of having and seeing God while serving Him in nursing, giving and attending care to her sick and hurting patients. Both of them realized they needed the Lord in their lives. They eventually completed their Bible studies with Pastor Matthew Reyes and shared that everything they went through and every struggle they experienced was to strengthen their faith. Finally, at age 33, Vanessa got baptized on September 5, 2020 at Silver Lake, Hope, BC. Vanessa said, “It’s true that if we try to do something in our own timeline, most of the time it’s not going to work. The reason why I’m here for baptism is not because I made it happen, but God led me...”Erica’s baptism was on October 3, 2020 at the Fraser River, Hope, BC, witnessed by her family, old Pathfinder friends and loved ones on that bright and sunny Sabbath day. We can all join them in saying that we still have our own struggles but won’t suffer knowing that God is in control and In His Time, will “fulfill His plans for us, not to harm but to prosper, to give us hope and a better future.”

Neil Peralta was the only witness to a murder.
A woman, who was living in the lower level of his house, was murdered by her husband.
At the age of 14, Neil overheard screaming coming from downstairs. When the screaming subsided, the bloodstained father came upstairs carrying a knife in one hand and his five-month-old baby girl in the other.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) really hit him hard. If he didn’t do something about it, it would become a slippery slope he couldn’t climb back out of. Eventually, it struck him that his only wise choice would be to seek help. After serving his country in the Canadian Armed Forces for many years, Otto Castillo faced the challenges of PTSD.
