Meditation: "We are Enough"

Today, I want to share a meditation I read recently from the daily devotional website, d365. The author, Dixie Ford, writes these words reflecting on John 6:10-13.

"When I graduated high school, I seemed to answer the same questions over and over: What now? Where are you going to college? What do you want to do? What is your GPA? How many hours of community service do you have? What about extracurricular activities? These recurring questions felt like different versions of one question: Are you enough?

Which is why I love these verses from John. Jesus wants to feed a hungry crowd, but the only food available is a small meal that belongs to one boy. Clearly, it will not be enough. Yet Jesus takes what the boy offers, thanks God for it, and begins to break it and give it to the people. By the end of the meal, everyone is full and there are even leftovers. In the hands of Jesus, the boy’s meal was more than enough!

May we remember this story each time we question whether or not we are enough for the work God is calling us to do. We are. In the hands of Jesus, we are."

What beautiful words to carry with us always, that in God's hands, we are always enough.

Blessings, Pastor Katheryn

Big Basin Hike

Join us Friday, August 26 on our next church hike to Big Basin Redwood State Park. We will leave the Trinity parking lot at 8:30 AM. Parking at Big Basin is by reservation only and we have reservations for 5 cars. With a finite number of seats available, we are taking sign-ups for this hike. Please contact Kathy at to sign up or for more information. We will do the Redwood Loop Trail (0.6 miles, very flat) and then decide on another short walk or 1.7 miles hike. You MUST bring your own water and food and be prepared for sun and heat. (There is some shade, but not as much as there used to be.)

WCE Forum Survey

Our Worship and Christian Education committee is looking to plan our next Faith, Ethics, and Social Concerns Forum soon. These forums are designed to discuss and learn more about a current issue in our society and how it interacts with faith. The committee came up with several options that we all agreed would be intriguing and important topics to dive into in a forum setting. Therefore, we want your feedback! Below is a link to a survey where you can pick which of the topics listed that you would like to see as our next forum.
