The City of Warrnambool and Shires of Corangamite and Moyne are developing a Regional Digital Strategy to enhance liveability, productivity and promote sustainability across the Region.

The Strategy aims to provide the Councils, communities, partners and investors with a clear direction for digital activity and initiatives that enrich community outcomes. It will be co-designed with the broader community and will aim to address the needs and priorities of the Great South Coast region and its people.

To be involved and have your say on the Regional Digital Strategy register for this week's community workshop. We also encourage you to complete a short survey online HERE

Business Corangamite have heard that you want to know where the grants are and how to access them. We have listed below current grants available from Business Victoria and Creative Victoria.

Grants - Corangamite Shire - the Business Façade Improvement Program and Small Business Assistance Programs will open in July 2022. 
Grants & programs | Business Victoria -
Small Business Energy Saver Program open (closes 31 May 2022) for small business owners (1 to 19 employees) to save on energy efficient equipment. 
Small Business Ventilation Program to improve ventilation (closes 24 June 2022). This support has been designed to help businesses implement building ventilation and reduce the risk of spreading COVID‑19 and to keep customers COVIDSafe.  There is a rebate and a grant available.
Small Business Digital Adaptation Program is open (closes 18 July 2022) provides $1200 rebates so small businesses can access a range of digital business tools. 
Grants & Support | Creative Victoria
Creative Neighbourhood Infrastructure Support Program (closes 2 June 2022) provides one-off grants for infrastructure upgrades that support secure and accessible workspaces for creative use, there are 3 streams available.

Council’s Community, Environment, Enabling, Events and Festivals, Facility, Leverage and  project Grant Programs for 2022-2023 are open.

Community Grants Program offers funding up to $2,000.
Council Enabling Grants Program offers grants of up to $5,000.
Environment Support Grants Program offers $1 for $1 funding for grants of up to $2,500.
Events and Festivals Grants Program offers up to $15,000, made up of a maximum of $10,000 grant funding and a maximum of $5000 of in-kind support. 
Facility Grant Program offers $1 for $1 basis up to $2,000.
Berrybank Wind Farm Leverage Grants Program offers two funding streams. The first stream offers funding of up to $25,000 to support larger beneficial community projects. The second stream offers funding of up to $10,000 to support local community projects.
Berrybank Wind Farm Project Grants offers funding of up to $10,000 to support local community projects.  

Applications for all of these programs close at 5 pm, Monday 23 May. We encourage you to contact us on 5593 7100 to talk about your project before submitting an application. Application forms and guidelines are available online at Grants and funding - Corangamite Shire 
The second round of Business Enablement Funding has opened and will close 16 May 2022.
This funding is available to enable more infrastructure projects to be supported to attract private sector investment along Victoria’s iconic Shipwreck Coast - through the Geelong City Deal’s Private Sector Business Enablement Fund (PSBEF).

Applications will open on 12 May 2022 for the Women Leading Locally Program. The program will help develop leadership skills, provide participants with ongoing mentoring and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to run a successful local government campaign. To kickstart the program, there will be a series of online and in-person seminars highlighting the valuable work of women leaders across Victoria.

The Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program is still available, which means customers can claim back 25% on dining and entertainment experiences across the state.

Dining and Entertainment rebates are available when a customer spends $40 or more on eligible expenses at cafes, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, wineries and other eligible hospitality venues, cinemas, museums, live performances, zoos, theme parks and more.

The program applies to eligible purchases made on or after 29 March. Up to $125 in combined rebates for dining and entertainment is available per customer. Anyone with a valid Australian bank account can apply.

If your business or venue is among those eligible for the program, your customers can claim back 25% on eligible purchases. Businesses don’t have to register to be part of the program.

Rebates are available on a first come, first served basis until funds are exhausted.

ManuFutures at Deakin University is encouraging entrepreneurs, innovators and technology start-ups to take advantage of a FREE manufacturing business accelerator program called ManuFutures Ignite that has been designed and run by business accelerator/ incubator and manufacturing experts.
 
This 12-week program is free and set to begin from 18 May 2022.
 
The start-up accelerator program provides coaching and mentoring, and consists of a series of business accelerator modules, built around manufacturing/product engineering and integrated learning platforms that cover essential topics from ISO certification processes to product-based manufacturing.

Following the changes made from 22 April 2022, it is important for business to note that:

  • All businesses are still required to have a COVIDSafe Plan in place.
  • In the workplace, individuals will be required to notify their workplace contacts, in addition to informing their social contacts.
  • Workplaces won’t have to individually identify and notify each potentially exposed worker.
  • It is recommended to work from home if you're a close contact exempt from quarantine.
