The City of Warrnambool and Shires of Corangamite and Moyne are developing a Regional Digital Strategy to enhance liveability, productivity and promote sustainability across the Region.

The Strategy aims to provide the Councils, communities, partners and investors with a clear direction for digital activity and initiatives that enrich community outcomes.

This Strategy will be co-designed with the broader community and will aim to address the needs and priorities of the Great South Coast region and its people.

Grants & programs | Business Victoria -
Small Business Energy Saver Program open (closes 31 May 2022) for small business owners (1 to 19 employees) to save on energy efficient equipment. 
Small Business Digital Adaptation Program is open (closes 18 July 2022) provides $1200 rebates so small businesses can access a range of digital business tools. There are 14 suppliers the Victorian Government has partnered with to help you build or upgrade your website, improve your cash flow, start online marketing, manage your jobs and projects, and keep better track of stock.

Council’s Community, Environment, Enabling, Events and Festivals, Facility, Leverage and  project Grant Programs for 2022-2023 are open.

The Community Grants Program offers funding up to $2,000 to community groups operating in the Shire to assist with workshops and equipment purchases, community events, planning activities and the development of new community, leisure, cultural or recreational programs.

The Environment Support Grants Program offers $1 for $1 funding for grants of up to $2,500 for environment and sustainability projects within the Shire. Applications from community groups to install energy and water saving items at community facilities are also eligible. 

The Council Enabling Grants Program offers grants of up to $5,000 are available to assist community groups to develop ‘shovel-ready’ projects, including the project specification and the grant application. The annual funding pool will provide for a minimum of three funded projects per year.

The Events and Festivals Grants Program offers up to $15,000, made up of a maximum of $10,000 grant funding and a maximum of $5000 of in-kind support. It is intended for bigger events that increase visitation and stimulate economic activity in the Shire.

The Facility Grants Program offers $1 for $1 funding up to $2,000 to Committees of Management and Clubs/Organisations whose primary function is located in the Shire to assist with facility improvements or equipment.

The Berrybank Wind Farm Leverage Grants Program offers two funding streams. The first stream offers funding of up to $25,000 to support larger beneficial community projects. Applicants may apply for annual funding over a number of years to fund large scale projects delivering significant benefits to local communities. The second stream offers funding of up to $10,000 to support local community projects. These can include community, environment, facilities, events or other beneficial projects. Applicants may apply for annual funding over two consecutive years to fund a larger project. 

Applications for all of these programs close at 5 pm, Monday 23 May. We encourage you to contact us on 5593 7100 to talk about your project before submitting an application. Application forms and guidelines are available online at Grants and funding - Corangamite Shire 
The second round of Business Enablement Funding has opened and will close 16 May 2022.
This funding is available to enable more infrastructure projects to be supported to attract private sector investment along Victoria’s iconic Shipwreck Coast - through the Geelong City Deal’s Private Sector Business Enablement Fund (PSBEF).  

Projects that are within the Shipwreck Coast are the priority of the Fund, however projects in neighbouring areas along the Great Ocean Road will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.  
Activities that can be considered for funding include:
•    Infrastructure upgrades for roads, power, bridges and communications throughout the Shipwreck Coast – Great Ocean Road region
•    Digital connectivity infrastructure within the region, including new and upgraded mobile coverage
•    Site and project constraints.
•    Strategic headwork services including potable water and sewer services

The Victorian Government has released its Small Business Ventilation Program to improve ventilation.
This support has been designed to help businesses implement building ventilation and reduce the risk of spreading COVID‑19 and to keep customers COVIDSafe. 
Eligible businesses can now apply for funding to invest in equipment, undertake works or engage professional services to improve ventilation in areas of the workplace that are accessible to customers.
Under the program, 2 types of support are available:

The Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program is open, which means customers can claim back 25% on dining and entertainment experiences across the state.

Dining and Entertainment rebates are available when a customer spends $40 or more on eligible expenses at cafes, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, wineries and other eligible hospitality venues, cinemas, museums, live performances, zoos, theme parks and more.

The program applies to eligible purchases made on or after 29 March. Up to $125 in combined rebates for dining and entertainment is available per customer. Anyone with a valid Australian bank account can apply.

If your business or venue is among those eligible for the program, your customers can claim back 25% on eligible purchases. Businesses don’t have to register to be part of the program.

All you have to do is provide your customers with a printed or electronic itemised proof of purchase or tax invoice. The proof of purchase must include your business name, purchase date, items purchased and transaction total (including GST). 

Customers can then upload their receipt via the secure Victorian Dining Program website or via the secure Victorian Entertainment Program website. Rebates are available on a first come, first served basis until funds are exhausted.

ManuFutures at Deakin University is encouraging entrepreneurs, innovators and technology start-ups to take advantage of a FREE manufacturing business accelerator program called ManuFutures Ignite that has been designed and run by business accelerator/ incubator and manufacturing experts.
 
This 12-week program is free and set to begin from 18 May 2022.
 
The start-up accelerator program provides coaching and mentoring, and consists of a series of business accelerator modules, built around manufacturing/product engineering and integrated learning platforms that cover essential topics from ISO certification processes to product-based manufacturing.
