Almighty God, whose blessed Son was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan: Come quickly to help us who are assaulted by many temptations; and, as you know the weaknesses of each of us, let each one find you mighty to save; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Revealing Christ's Love:
Caring for the sheep
Searching for the lost
Dear Church of God,

Jesus' call to "repent, and believe the good news" is an announcement of a free offer. What is on offer? The kingdom of God: the rule of the Creator breaking into our world to heal all things. One of the things most in need of healing is our creature-Creator relationship, marred as it is by sin. And Jesus comes not to assist us, or help us with this, he comes to accomplish our reconciliation himself. And then he puts out the offer of an at-peace, hope-filled relationship with the God we've rebelled against, but who loves us so much he comes to die for us in the person of his son.

Peter writes, “Christ suffered for sins once and for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God" (1 Peter 3:18). This is the great exchange of the cross: the one sinless, righteous man dies in place of the unrighteous who are themselves deserving of death. That is the greatest image of self-giving love, and do you know how much it will cost you to acquire it? Nothing! Jesus has paid for your ticket.

Friends, that is the beauty of the Gospel that we must never forget. When we enter into our Lenten disciplines--whether fasting from something or adding a new routine to our day--we must remember that we are doing so as a way of embracing the Kingdom of which we are already a part! Jesus has given himself in our place, bearing all of the punishment for sin "once and for all." Our practices should be aimed at disarming the ongoing power of sin in our lives and moving deeper into the fullness of union with God.

In Christ,

Fr. Cameron+
PARISH NEWS & EVENTS
THANKS TO ALL OUR YOUTH AND ADULT HELPERS WHO COOKED UP SUCH WONDERFUL PANCAKES ON SHROVE TUESDAY!
CHEMO CAPS needed for Florida Hospital Oncology patients. Although our small Tabitha's Treasures ladies generate a HUGE number of chemo caps they cannot keep up with the demand from the oncology chaplains at Florida Hospital. Our chemo caps are in high demand! You don't have to be present on Wednesdays - these can be made at home sitting in front of the TV in a couple of hours. (No knitting or crocheting experience required) We have some looms and Sue Burley will be happy to supply wool and looms from our Tabitha's stock. Contact the office for more information
MARK YOUR CALENDARS - SATURDAY, MARCH 10 FOR OUR ANNUAL FISH FRY! Details coming soon.
Dear Good Shepherd and Reverend Sarah,
Jane and I thank you for your support over the years and for your generous gift for Almy vestments. We have talked to Almy and will be getting an alb and other necessary vestments after Easter. We can’t wait to be back in Central Florida. We are planning during Spring Break to see Bishop Folwell and several other clergy and lay  friends who have ended up in North Carolina, before we move permanently further away from them.
Thank you again for your support and love,
                          Jim and Jane Louttit
Thanks to Ralph Darville and Joe Small for installing our new Stations of the Cross sculptures which were bought as a memorial to Ethel Copes. We will bless the newly installed sculptures in memory of Ethel at a later date.
During Lent you are invited to walk the Stations as a Lenten discipline.
MAGNIFY THE LIVING LORD - VOLUME 8

"Witnessing for the Lord can be as simple as relaying to someone who is experiencing a problem how God helped you with a problem of your own.  Even if you fumble with the words, by sharing that incident God will be able to use your witness to encourage that person to come to Him.  It is up to you to ask God to provide you with such opportunities." (Paraphrased from Forward Day by Day)

Writing for Magnify the Living Lord – Vol. 8 may be such an opportunity for you. Previous volumes can be found online HERE

Please email your stories to Joy Sutton HERE  If you would rather just tell about a happening instead, please phone the Parish Office with your contact information and Joy will call you back and will write it for you.
