Until recently the playgroup took place at a rented Open Hands 3rd floor apartment block. Although the apartment did not offer any outdoor play opportunities for the children it was spacious and clean. It also offered a home to Bea, our mum who runs the playgroup and her two small children. However, in June the landlady decided to sell the apartment, giving us very short notice to re-locate.
Thanks to a generous donation made by Europlacer, a UK company, we were able to buy a small house for our playgroup. The house has wonderful potential. There are fruit trees and vegetable pads in the garden and even a place to keep animals. Here the children will have the opportunity to play safely and explore the outside world as well! A perfect place to teach the children about growing food and keeping animals. We are also planning to build a small playground in the garden for the children to enjoy.
The house will not only host the playgroup but also offer a home to Bea and her own children.
