Thank You for Your Prayers for Aviana
Our little angel, Aviana, just turned 4 years old on January 15th. Your prayers and the quality care she has received at Children’s Hospital are the reason she is in remission and was able to return to school last week. She is a remarkable little girl who has fought hard with great courage and high spirits. Her doctor has placed her on a rigorous two year treatment plan which will include numerous and various medications and procedures including chemotherapy. Please continue to pray for her recovery. We are blessed to have such an amazing network of family and friends. Click here

In celebration of the six-year anniversary of L.A. City Councilmember José Huizar's Bringing Back Broadway initiative, you are invited to get a first-hand look at the history and future of Broadway, during A DAY ON BROADWAY,Saturday January 25, 2014, beginning at 12:30pm. A Day On Broadway will begin against the backdrop of the newly opened Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles at 929 S. Broadway and will offer something for everyone.
Six of Broadway's historic theaters (Million Dollar Theatre, Palace Theatre, Los Angeles Theatre, Globe Theatre, Tower Theatre and Orpheum Theatre) will be open just for this event. Take a rare glimpse inside these glorious movie palaces during a history talk by Ed Kelsey of the League of Historic American Theatres or visit with docents from the Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation during your self-guided exploration of the corridor. As space remains available (consult DayOnBroadway.LA and click "Plan Your Day" for options) you may sign up to enjoy a Broadway walking tour led by Los Angeles Conservancy docents or join a guided tour focused on retail and restaurants and hear about how historic spaces have been transformed into new uses.
Some adventurous teams have signed up to participate in a fun, clue-solving adventure exploring the district's historic structures, landmark theatres, commercial, retail and restaurant sites in "CityRace: The Best of Broadway," created especially for this occasion by our partners at Race L.A. / CityRace Urban Adventure Hunts. NOTE: CityRace: The Best of Broadway has reached capacity, but there's plenty more to do! And, as you go about YOUR Day On Broadway, watch for the more than 70 teams participating, and cheer them on as they hunt down their clues throughout the corridor!
A Day On Broadway events are free and open to the public. End-of-day happy hours at area venues are no-host bars. Space is limited and happy hours are open to registered / checked-in participants only. Make sure to check-in on event day at 12:30pm to secure a spot.
Pre-registration is required for all docent-led / guided tours, as space is limited. Go to www.DayOnBroadway.LA and click "Plan Your Day"
