3rd Annual El Sereno Kite Flying Festival

The LA 32 Neighborhood Council Arts and Culture committee invite you to the 3rd Annual El Sereno Kite Flying Festival. Bring your family and friends to a FREE event at Ascot Hills Park to celebrate Earth Day with a day of Kite Flying. There will be kite flying awards, kite making workshop, as well as snacks and refreshments.
Also, there will be a Kite Making Workshop
for Sunday, April 7th

New CD14 Website Now Up and Running!
The Council District 14 Website has been revamped and relaunched. Please visit to learn vital information about the district and the services and resources available to you, as well as issues and projects our office is working on.
If you have a service request or any other City need, you can use the CD14 website to contact our office directly or submit a service-request via email. Let your family and friends know that they can also sign up for the CD 14 eNewsletter at our website.

Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council

The Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council (ASNC) was certified in 2002 under the Charter of the City of Los Angeles to advise L.A.'s elected officials and departments regarding local and citywide governmental issues on behalf of the stakeholders of Hermon, Montecito Heights, Monterey Hills, Mount Washington and Sycamore Grove. It is, effectively, the focused voice of these communities on a broad range of important issues: the delivery of city services, public safety, land use and open space, economic development, the environment, arts and culture, and more.

Free Tax preparation services provided to families earning less than $50,000 a year. All services will be provided by IRS Certified Tax preparers. This is only available for for Los Angeles Residents.
To accurately determine your EITC eligibility and prepare your returns, please bring the following with you:
Social Security Cards for Self, Spouse, and dependents. Social security number verification letters issued by the Social Security Administration are also accepted.
Birth dates for all persons listed on the tax return
Wage and earnings statement(s) Forms W-2, W-2G, AND 1099-R, from all employers
Interest and dividend statements from banks (forms 1099)
Copies of last year’s federal and state returns,
Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit of your refunds
Other relevant information about income and expenses
Amounts paid for day care, if applicable and the day care provider’s identifying number
El Sereno Farmers Market

Join us for El Sereno Farmers Market on Huntington Drive between Van Horne & Guardia Ave. Councilmember José Huizar has revived the El Sereno Farmers Market with the help of the organizers of the successful Boyle Heights Farmers Market, who will run the weekly community event. There will be fresh fruit, bread, food, artisans, and entertainment. Come have some family fun and bring your friends and family. The Los Angeles Business Source Center provides local businesses a suite of technical services. These services are at no charge to businesses owners including strategic and analytical consulting, particularly in business development and engaging in State Enterprise Zones (SEZ). Programs include:

LA Regional Food Bank Commodity
Supplemental Food Program
If you or someone you know is a senior (60 years and older) and meets the Senior Income Guidelines of $1,180 per month (1 person) or $1,594 per month (2 persons), they may qualify to participate in the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank Commodity Supplemental Food Program. This program will provide seniors with a FREE Food Kit once a month, prepared with specific nutritional needs in mind, and will include meats, canned fruits and vegetables, dry milk and related products, cereals and other grain products, plus much more!
Program Requirements are as follows:
Seniors (60 years and older)
*Picture ID with Date of Birth
* Proof of Income – Social Security, SSI or Pension
(Bank Statement, Check Stub, Benefit Award Letter) OR
You can authorize someone to pick up your food every month! Note: Please make sure to bring that person with you at the time of your first visit.
