Get your wheels ready! The El Sereno Skate Park is ready for its Grand Re-Opening, tomorrow, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at the El Sereno Recreation Center.
After hearing about the need for repairs from constituents and youth skaters, Councilmember José Huizar led the effort to re-furbish theSkate Park, which was closed due to damaged equipment. The $40,000 renovation was done in partnership with the LA Department of Recreation and Parks with renowned designers Spohn Ranch Skateparks serving as the project’s contractor.
New and improved features include: new fencing, a new “Skatelite” skating surface, stainless steel fasteners, and much more!
All these improvements will make skating a lot more fun and safe for beginners, intermediate and experienced skate boarding enthusiasts as we kick-off summer 2013 and National Skate Day (June 21).
