Back to School Health Fair

Free Movies in Budd Weiner Park

It’s summertime and what better way to embrace it than packing up your lawn chairs and blankets and grabbing your favorite people to enjoy a movie at the park. The Office of Councilmember Jose Huizar along with the Monterey Hills Federation and Fresco Community Market invite you to FREE movies in the Budd Weiner Park. There will be FREE popcorn and drinks for all to enjoy.

Mayor's Crisis Response Team


The Mayor's Crisis Response Team (CRT) is looking for volunteers to participate in the Fall 2013 class and become active CRT volunteers.  
 
FALL 2013 CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM TRAINING:
 
What: Crisis Response Team Volunteer Program
When: Monday & Wednesday Evenings, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Dates: Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 – Wednesday, October. 23, 2013
Where: LAPD Headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles

(Languages needed include Spanish, Korean, Armenian, Farsi, Chinese and Tagalog)
 
ABOUT THE CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM: Members of the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team (CRT) are volunteers who respond to traumatic incidents at the request of the Los Angeles Police and Los Angeles Fire Departments. CRT volunteers provide immediate on-scene crisis intervention, act as a liaison between the victim and emergency personnel and give referrals to victims and their families affected by a death, a violent crime or other traumatic incidents. These incidents include homicides, suicides, serious traffic accidents, natural deaths and multi-casualty incidents.  During the required seven week training to be a member of the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team you will be provided the background, information, training and support to be able to respond to crisis situations as a member of the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team.

The time is now to prepare for college and the workforce! The Para Los Niños Workforce Service Center is here to help youth reach there employment and academic goals. The Center provides the following:

  • Application Assistance
  • FAFSA/ Scholarship Assistance
