"You who answer prayer, to you all people will come."  -- Psalm 65:2

December 2016

Dear <<First Name>>

As we move into the Advent Season we anticipate, we prepare our hearts for celebration of the first time Jesus came to live among us. We also look forward to the next time he will come. This year I (Janet) have a new way to prepare for the coming of Christmas: I am in the high school choir! They let me join just to beef up the alto section. It has been enjoyable for me to get to know students by being in class with them, and to learn the songs too. The concert is coming up Dec. 17, along with many other end of the semester activities. Pray that the Lord will be glorified in this season through our songs, through worship opportunities, and through our interactions with a hurting world of people who need to know the Savior. Here are other ways for you o pray for our ministry this month.

Praises for November

  1.  Regional Coordinator Josef Rasheed and Exec. Minister of Serve Globally, Al Tizon arrived safely to Yaounde. They made successful trips by air to meet Josh & Lori Shinar, and by road to see Roy & Aleta Danforth's ministries in CAR. We're thankful for the time we could spend with these excellent leaders for a couple weeks.
  2.   Ben and his fellow classmates did very well at both their Drama Class Play and the 1920s themed dinner. Now students are auditioning for 2nd semester Drama.
  3.  Thank you for praying for Lucy. I was able to connect her with a ministry here in Yaounde the director of which is the mother of one of our students at RFIS. "Hope Services" has ob-gyn and maternity services for women. Director, Mrs. Ndichafah, made sure Lucy was seen by a specialist. Results of various tests indicated she needs about a month to boost her hemoglobin before surgery.
  4.  Praise God with us that we are hearing from people interested in serving as hostel parents! Please keep praying as the process of discernment, support raising etc. moves along.

Prayer Requests for December

  1.  Pray with us that my friend Lucy's hemoglobin will go up enough for her to have surgery in January; and that other test results are good.
  2.  Pray for a strong finish to the semester for students; that teachers can get grading done, and that all the technology works so we can get report cards printed before school ends 20 Dec. Pray also for the final day of school when students will go into the community to serve.
  3.  Pray for Dem. Rep. Congo which is having some unrest these days; particularly Dec. 19-20 when there are planned demonstrations in the capital city. Also pray for Covenant missionaries as they determine when it will be a good time to return to Congo.
  4.  Pray for Michelle and Nathan in the US over Christmas. Both have plans to spend tme with friends. It feels strange to be a family 2/5 in the US and 3/5 in Africa over the holidays.
Thank you for supporting our ministry through prayer.

Janet & Ron Ziegelbaur
