From the owners of SymbiOp:
We are a worker owned co-op that is dedicated to serving people and planet through ecological land stewardship. The company was founded by myself, my partner, and our housemate in early 2020 just as the pandemic was starting. As we watched our community suffer, and many lose their jobs, we decided it was time to start creating jobs. The company started with just the three of us, but grew quickly. We were (and continue) installing landscapes that were native, medicinal, edible, low maintenance, and pollinator sanctuaries that were beautiful and also helped reverse the effects of climate change.
Since we established in 2020, we have grown quickly as there is a high demand for services that take care of the environment while also providing a living wage, opportunity, genuine care, and community to the employees and clients. We have now grown to a company with 20+ employees altogether. As we continue to grow and further our mission and values, we are now opening the SymbiOp Garden Shop, in an effort to bring more resources to the community to make ecological land stewardship as accessible as possible, while also promoting local makers, artists, and educators.

Ladybug Nature Walk in Kenilworth Park
10:30am - 11:30am, East entrance to park on 34th Ave, just north of Holgate Blvd
Advance Registration required, "Pay What You Can" pricing, $3, $6, or $9 per child

Ladybug Nature Walks are a way for children ages 18 months-6 years (with an adult) to explore a local Portland park or natural area with a trained educator. Walks are child-directed and open-ended. Nature educators walk with the children in small groups, encouraging them to learn through questions, observation, and play. Groups move slowly through the park, stopping frequently, so children have time to notice the plants and animals around them. Each participating child gets to borrow a small ladybug backpack for the walk containing a few simple tools for exploring.

Please read all details carefully. This is an in-person activity that will be following guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Oregon Healthy Authority, and Multnomah County. All who are registered need to follow the COVID-19 protocols listed below.

We know that cost may be a barrier to some members of our community. If you cannot pay the full cost, use the discounts at check-out to pay what you can.
