PCS Accreditation for Dundee Wasps, Qualifications for Young Gymnastics Coaches, Personal Bests for Local Speed Skater, Dundee Sports Awards Nominations, 1/2 Price Sport Relief Registration

Merry Christmas from SportDundee

SportDundee would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!  Looking forward to a fantastic year of sport in 2014!!

PCS Accreditation for Wasps

Congratulations to Dundee Wasps who gained the prestigeous Bill McLaren Foundation Accreditation in association with the Scottish Rugby Union.

Dundee Wasps are only the 21st club in Scotland to achieve this accreditation which is outstanding for a club that has only been in existence for around two and a half years!

This is a great achievement which recognises good practice, a positive learning environment for the children at the club and continual personal development opportunities for the coaches.

The Rugby Development Officer will continue to support the club officials and coaches and hopefully the club can continue with their success in providing rugby playing opportunities for school aged children.

New Qualifications for Young Gymnastics Coaches

4 young coaches from Dundee Discovery Gymnastics Club have passed their UKCC Level 1 coaching qualifications in General Gymnastics and Womens Artistic disciplines.

The girls have worked very hard to achieve their awards and were supported with grant aid from SportDundee and sportscotland.

The girls were mentored within their Club environment and coaching a specific group of gymnasts who assisted them during their practical exams.
All this on top of busy academic years at school and other volunteering commitments.

The 4 coaches (back row from left to right) are Lindsey Williamson, Hollie Crowther, Chloe Doogan & Siobhan Christie.
