Scottish Cup Victory for Menzieshill Whitehall

Menzieshill Whitehall Swimming & Water Polo Club Under 18 Water Polo Team have won the Scottish Cup.

Carnegie Leisure Centre hosted the Scottish Cup Final between Menzieshill Whitehall and Hamilton.
This provided the opportunity for the Dundee team to seek redemption for narrow loses in Cup Competitions in years gone by and boy they did not fail to disappoint an animated and excited crowd.

A fired up team of nine players produced a display full of passion and composure in a well played game with a final score 14-7, which didn't do Hamilton justice as it was a very close match and only in the last quarter did MW gain confidence and really dominate.

Top scorer was Ben Parsons(8), Sam Muir (2), Matthew Crighton, Braden Henderson, Jack Robertson, Colin Wood all scored a goal each.

A fantastic achievement, congratulations to the players and coach!!

European Bronze for Dundee Wanderers Ladies

Dundee Wanderers Ladies, Scotland’s top indoor exponents following their National League triumph in February added to their list of accomplishments when they closed out their European championship campaign with bronze medals in Lithuania.

Wanderers’ only defeat in a testing 5-match programme was a marginal 2-1 loss to host club and eventual gold medal winners Gintra Strekte.

The squad had even more reason to celebrate hoisting the Saltire when Carmin Dow and Becky Ward were named as best goalkeeper and best defender at the EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Trophy.

Wanderers were within 90 seconds of striking silver before English champions Reading snatched a last ditch equaliser but to put their impressive performance in context, Reading fielded eight London 2012 bronze medallists, including GB captain Kate Richardson-Walsh.

Congratulations to everyone involved!!

Grove Menzieshill Men Win European Bronze

Grove Menzieshill Hockey Club Men's indoor team won Bronze medals at the European Trophy in Minsk, Belarus.

This fantasic achievement came after victories over the Dutch and Danish teams, a draw with the Croatian representatives and losses to the Austrians and Swiss during the Championships.

Well done to all the players and coaching staff - a fantastic result for Dundee hockey!!
