Early Harvest

            Summer has come and gone and with the long stretch of hot, dry weather, this year's harvest has been one of the earliest on record.  Many vineyards in the south Okanagan have already finished picking.  At SpierHead, we’ve begun this week.  That puts us about 3 weeks ahead of our typical start date in mid-October.

Pinot Noir is Back 

            This year we were sold out of our 2013 pinot noir before our tasting room got into full swing in July.  It is a perennial problem.  We’ve just bottled our 2014 pinot noirs and we have now released them for purchase online.  We produced 4 unique bottlings of 2014 pinot noir, including our cuvee, which collected a number of international awards last year.  Our website includes more details about each of our 2014 pinot noirs.  You can order online at www.spierheadwinery.com.  Shipping is just $10 per case of 12 bottles anywhere in Canada.  If you order 2 or more cases, the shipping is free.  Wine Club members should use their promo code to trigger their discount.  You can also contact us at info@spierheadwinery.com or at 250-763-7777.
 

Fall Wine Festival

            The Okanagan Wine Festival runs from October 1 to 11. We’ll be open daily for tastings during that period.  This year there will be lots for visitors to see as our crush pad will likely be in full operation.  If you get a chance, we hope you’ll drop by for a visit, especially on Friday, October 2.  That day will be our last Foodie Friday of the year.  We’re teaming up with Poppadoms Restaurant to offer complimentary treats paired with a glass of SpierHead wine.  Hope you can make it.
