We’re coming up to the start of June, when our tasting room will be open daily until the end of October.  We’ll have a new look this year as we’ve undertaken some major projects.  There will be a new entrance, a new roadway to the winery building, and lots of landscaping upgrades.  Our new picnic/events area will be just the spot for an afternoon glass of wine.
Spring Releases
We bottled our 2014 Riesling, Pinot Gris and Rosé this spring and we have more bottling slated for mid-June.  At that time, we’ll be bottling our 2014 Chardonnay and our 2013 Bordeaux reds:  Vanguard and Pursuit.
In the last few weeks we’ve received some nice awards from significant wine competitions.  Our 2013 Pinot Noir Cuvee won silver medals at two prestigious competitions in London, England: The Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine and Spirit Competition.  Also, our 2013 Chardonnay was just awarded a gold medal at the All Canadian Wine Championships in Ontario.
All of our wines, including our spring releases, can be purchased online.  If you order a 12 bottle case (you’re free to mix and match) the shipping charge anywhere in Canada is just $10.  If you order two or more cases, the shipping is free.  You can order here:
Wine Tasting Seminars
This year we’ve added Rik Van Loon to our tasting room team.  Rik has completed a very high level of formal wine studies and we plan to put that knowledge to work.  Starting in June, we’ll be offering an informative one hour wine tasting seminar every Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  The tastings, which Rik will lead, will be designed around a particular wine related subject.  For example, in June, Rik will be explaining and demonstrating through the tasting, the influence that oak aging has on wine.  There is much more to this topic than one would think.  For example, the tasting will explore the differences between French oak and American oak, between new oak barrels and previously used barrels, etc.  In July, Rik will tailor the tastings around a different topic.  Tickets for the tasting seminars are $15, or $7.50 for Wine Club members.  To book a spot, just contact us at or 250-763-7777.
Hope to see you at the winery over the summer.
