TU BALL WIEN

January 26, 2017

Fulbright Austria program participants again took part in an annual tradition and attended the TU Wien Ball in the magnificent Hofburg Palace in Vienna. It is a highlight to see everyone dressed up and enjoying a long-standing Austrian tradition. The Austrian Fulbright Alumni Association even reserves tables for Fulbrighters at the ball and gives them a crash course in ballroom dance beforehand. The next day, they all meet again at Fulbright Austria's MQ/Q21 office for a relaxed brunch. Photos and More:

FULBRIGHT AUSTRIAN STUDENT PROGRAM

Deadline: May 1, 2017

Fulbright Austria invites Austrian citizens interested in a Master's degree in the US to apply for the 2018-19 Fulbright Austrian Student Program. We provide generous financial and administrative support to Austrian students and young professionals, which starts with coaching candidates on optimizing their applications and extends to university selection and placement support, in cooperation with the Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York. Candidates in a wide range of disciplines select programs and apply to four US universities, choose where to enroll (based on where they've been accepted), receive a scholarship of up to $25,000 from Fulbright Austria, and are often offered additional support by the institutions they decide to attend. Once in the US, Fulbright students are members of the international Fulbright community and enjoy ongoing support from Fulbright Austria and IIE. More:

ALUMNI NEWS

Keith Kovach's historical and modern Austrian cityscapes

ALUM KEITH KOVACH:
BOOK, INSTITUTIONAL COLLABORATION, PROJECT

US Scholar alum and photographer Keith Kovach (University of Central Florida) was the Fulbright-MQ/Q21 Artist-in-Residence in 2015 and published a book of photographs that resulted from his time in Austria entitled Vienna in the Winter. His stay also resulted in a cooperation between his home institution and the Fachhochschule Salzburg which will lead to student exchanges between the institutions.

While on a follow-up visit to Vienna in summer 2016, Keith became inspired by the historical cityscapes in Viennese museums he saw echoed in the city around him, and conceived of a new project that combines historical and modern Austrian cityscapes: Photos and More:
