FIVE THINGS ABOUT THE FULBRIGHT ACT

It's the 70th anniversary of The Fulbright Program! The Fulbright Act that made it possible was signed 70 years ago on August 1 and on this festive occasion, our resident historian Lonnie R. AUSTRIAN FULBRIGHTER WINS ST. GALLEN WINGS OF EXCELLENCE AWARD

Austrian Fulbright Student Schima Labitsch has been awarded the St. Gallen Symposium's prestigious Wings of Excellence Award for her essay on "Deconstructing Growth." Shima is studying political economy and development at Fordham University. More:

INTERCOUNTRY LECTURE HIGHLIGHTS

Fulbright US Scholars are sharing their expertise in fields ranging from human genetic engineering to transnational feminism in guest lectures all over Europe as part of the Fulbright Intercountry Lecture Program.  More:

The signing of the agreement, with TU Graz Rector Harald Kainz, deputy head of the Institute of Analytical Chemistry und Food Chemistry at TU Graz Prof. Erich Leitner, University of Arkansas food scientist and Fulbright- NAWI Graz Visiting Professor in the Natural Sciences Andy Proctor, and Fulbright Austria Board Member (and alumna) Roberta Maierhofer.

NEW COOPERATION BETWEEN TU GRAZ AND U OF ARKANSAS

Fulbright Austria parter institution Graz University of Technology and the University of Arkansas have signed an Agreement of Cooperation and Exchange, which strengthens the connection between the universities and will facilitate shared research and bilateral student and faculty mobility. Fulbrighters, including  Fulbright- NAWI Graz Visiting Professor Andy Proctor, were a driving force behind the agreement. More:

US Fulbright Scholar Judson "Sid" Clemens teaching students at MCI

NEW MCI-ASU DUAL DEGREE MASTER'S PROGRAM

US Fulbright Scholar Judson "Sid" Clements used his time at MCI Management Center Innsbruck to implement a dual master's degree program between MCI and his home institution of Appalachian State University. Students will now have the opportunity to complete an interdisciplinary dual degree in Mechatronics (MCI) and Engineering Physics (ASU). It's great to see that semester-long exchanges can have such a lasting institutional impact! More:

FULBRIGHT AUSTRIAN SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Austrian scholars are invited to apply for the Fulbright Scholar Program to teach and conduct research at US universities by October 30, 2016. This program serves up-and-coming as well as established scholars, and is especially interested in enhancing the careers of early to mid-career scholars from Austria by providing them with opportunities in the US. FULBRIGHT VISITING PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA: FOCUS ON MIGRATION

This jointly-sponsored four-month Austrian Fulbright Scholar grant rotates among departments in the College of Liberal Arts affiliated with the Center for Austrian Studies at the University of Minnesota. The focus for the academic year 2017-18 will be on issues of immigration/migration in the social sciences and humanities. More:

FULBRIGHT-BOTSTIBER VISITING PROFESSOR OF AUSTRIAN-AMERICAN STUDIES IN THE US

Established Austrian scholars are invited to apply for the Fulbright-Botstiber award to teach and conduct research on subjects that promote the understanding of the historical relationship between Austria and the United States. There is also a Fulbright-Botstiber Visiting Professor of Austrian-American Studies in Austria, and Austrian institutions can host US scholars under the auspices of that award. More:
